Salt tablets
Salt tablets are used in water softeners to transform hard water into soft water.
Salt tablets is pure sodium chloride. It is made of food grade salt. It is pressed into tablets to make them easier to handle.
Because it is easier to handle. It is easier to pour the tablets into the compartment in the water softener. Sometimes there is some dust in the bag, this is just a wear off effect, not any product defect.
In all types of water softeners. Either in small filters available for household incoming water, for agriculture or in the food industry and municipal waterworks with slightly larger water volumes. Many industries also use salt tablets in major industrial filters that process water to heatworks and process industries.
Salt tablets dissolve quite slowly, but are clearly better than ordinary fine-grained food salt which forms cakes at the bottom of the container in the softener. Make sure you get the right function of the filter.
Granulated salt can be used. This solves even better than salt tablets. It is a little harder to pour without spilling and there will be a little more dust left in the bag.
